Join The Committee

At village bakers we are run by our bakers for our bakers, the group would not be able to exist with out the help of those who volunteer to be on our committee.

We currently have the following committee positions available, so if you interested in getting involved and making a difference to the running of the group, simply apply as detailed below.

Committee Role: Vice Chairperson

Type of Role: Officer of the committee

Assist the chairperson with management of the Village Bakers group, fulfilling the Chairpersons duties during periods of absence or as required. A figurehead and ambassador for the club with responsibility for key decision making, in consultation with other elected officers and staff and for general leadership. The Vice Chairperson has a key role in encouraging members to become involved in all aspects of the club, its organisation and its development. The Vice Chairperson has responsibility for the running and actions of the group.

Committee Role: Secretary

Type of Role: Officer on the Committee

To provide a central point of administration, information and communication for all club business reporting to the club chairperson. The secretary initially deals with all correspondence, communications, recording of club minutes and is key to the smooth running of all club affairs.

Committee Role: Membership & Member Engagement Manager

Type of Role: Member of the Committee

The principal function of this role is to be a friendly, approachable face to new and existing members. To oversee all matters associated with membership of the club and the recording / monitoring of membership numbers at each meeting.

Committee Role: Marketing & PR Manager

Type of Role: Member of the Committee

Reporting to the club chairperson this role provides a central point for the club to lead and promote its activities, targeting increased membership and income and /or to improve the club’s image and profile. This includes responsibility for the club’s marketing plan, social media, liaison with the local media and raising the club’s profile within the local community.

Committee Role: Events & Charity Engagement Manager

Type of Role: Member of the Committee

The principal function of the events & charity manager is to organise, plan and create exciting events that help achieve the aims and objectives of the group within agreed budget requirements.

Committee Role: Funding & Fundraising Manager

Type of Role: Member of the Committee

The principal function of this role is to increase the voluntary contributions of individuals, groups and businesses to the Village Bakers, by building relationships, exploring funding applications and fundraising opportunities.
