At Village Bakers we believe that food has the power to bring communities together. The Great Village Bake Off is a celebratory event full of cake, friendship, community spirt mixed with a sprinkle of celeb judges and hosted with the sharp wit of a village drag queen.
The Great Village Bake Off is a celebration of LGBT baking, in which applicates bake their LGBT inspired bakes, bring them to our event, and share them with everyone at the event. As with any good Bake Off a team of celebrity ex Great British Bake Off contestants cast their eye over the bakes to grown our Great Village Bake Off Star Baker.
First established in 2013 the event has quickly become an annual event on the LGBT calendar. The event is aimed at ammeter bakers with categories covering everything from beginners’ cupcakes to LGBT showstoppers.
Former ‘Great British Bake Off’ alumni – Howard Middleton (series 4) explained “The Great Village Bake Off is easily my favourite judging event of the year and I’m thrilled to be asked. The competition is always fierce – I’m expecting fabulous flavours and amazing artistry and I know the bakers always rise to the occasion.”
Regular event hostess Misty Chance added “It’s a joy to see the passion our community demonstrates as their creations become more extravagant.”
