Baking for Village Bakers

At Village Bakers, it’s all about fun, community, and sharing, not perfection. Whether you’re a baking pro or trying something new for the first time, your creations are welcome. Bring whatever you like — sweet, savoury, simple, or fancy — and enjoy seeing everyone’s efforts side by side.

All food is presented as a buffet, so larger bakes should be pre-portioned if possible. Cakes can be cut on the day at The Molly House, so don’t hold back on the icing or toppings!

Above all, the goal is to bake, share, and enjoy together — every effort is appreciated, no matter your experience level.

Top Tips

All skill levels welcome – from first-time mixers to cake pros!

Slice it up – pre-portion larger bakes so everyone gets a taste.

Go wild with decoration – cakes can be cut and shared at The Molly House.

Label with pride – complete the village bakers label with you name and bake.

Bake what you love – it’s all about sharing, tasting, and having fun together!

Meet & Greet for New Bakers

Coming along to your first Village Bakers Sunday Social can feel a little daunting if you’re arriving on your own – so we offer a friendly Meet & Greet service. One of our bakers can meet you nearby before the social starts, walk in with you, and introduce you to the group so you can settle in and feel at ease. If this would help, simply click the link and drop us a message to arrange it.

Our Other Events

Baking is just the start — we host all kinds of events throughout the year:

Baking Masterclass – Learn new skills and bake together.

Local Pride Events & Parades – Celebrate with cake, colour, and community.

The Great Village Bake Off – Show off your skills and win Star Baker!

Midweek Socials – Relaxed meet-ups with friends, no baking required.

There’s always a place for you at Village Bakers — come and join the fun!

Membership: Be Part of It

Becoming a Village Bakers member is easy — all you need to do is attend three Sunday Socials first. Once you’ve done that, you can sign up through our membership officer at a Sunday Social and complete our membership form.

Membership is free and comes with perks: members get 10% off everything at The Molly House, can help shape the group, and gain access to member-only free events.

Even if you’re not a member, everyone is welcome at our socials. You can RSVP to events on our events page, join in the baking, or just come along to chat and enjoy the delicious creations. There are plenty of ways to get involved, so you can find what works for you and dive in at your own pace!

Our Cheerleaders

Village Bakers thrives thanks to the generous support of our community partners The Molly House and our patron Howard Middleton. Their contributions help us create a welcoming space for everyone to connect, bake, and celebrate together.
